It’s officially available worldwide! Players can enjoy Road to Boruto, the expansion pack to Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2’s Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The expansion has a story mode that summarizes Boruto: Naruto the Movie with 3D cutscenes and battles, but it also has a an interesting mode called Virtual Reality.
As we reported in December and showed the Japanese version of last month, this is NOT a mode using the PlayStation VR or any other VR device. In the world of Naruto, technology has advanced quite a bit. For example, we’ve seen Boruto play on a handheld in Boruto: Naruto the Movie. We’ve also seen him use a device that allows ninja to use any justu. One of the technological advances in the Naruto universe is the ability to fight virtual versions of ninja spanning the generations. This is virtual reality in the Naruto world, the ability to even fight the strongest ninja from different parts of history. Again, it is not a virtual experience for you, the player, but instead for your in-game character Boruto.
The Virtual Reality Mode has a lot of character dialogue, but it’s mostly just generic one-liners. That is until the last battle, between father and son, Naruto vs Boruto, which includes its own cutscenes! What does Naruto say to Boruto? What does Boruto respond back with? Take a look at it below!
